Luchasaurus, now referred to as Killswitch, is currently facing severe health issues due to pneumonia affecting both of his lungs, and it remains unclear when he might return to the ring.
Although there was initial hope for his recovery, recent updates from Fightful Select suggest that setbacks have complicated his AEW return.
According to the report, Luchasaurus still requires oxygen support and is far from ready to resume physical training.
Medical experts reportedly believe he will eventually be able to return to wrestling, but at this moment, the main focus is on restoring his strength and stability.
The report states, “He’s going to be on oxygen for a number of weeks,” indicating that Luchasaurus’ recovery will be a slow and closely monitored process.
The AEW star’s health issues began in late September when his condition deteriorated after he collapsed at home. His blood oxygen levels had alarmingly dropped below 80%, raising serious concerns for his well-being.
While initial reports suggested he would soon return to the gym, further updates revealed complications such as calcification in a heart valve and iron production issues, which heighten his risk of relapse.
Bryan Alvarez of Wrestling Observer Live further reports that Luchasaurus is facing long-term hurdles that might threaten his wrestling career.
Alvarez said, “It’s not certain this is a career-ending issue, but it could be.”
Luchasaurus’ path to recovery continues, with ongoing medical assessments to gauge the extent of the damage and his capability to resume physical activity.
For now, his future in the ring remains uncertain, although it is believed that, with time and careful management, Luchasaurus can return to action.
