AEW is expecting the return of a former champion recovering from an injury.
“Switchblade” Jay White has been absent from AEW for over a month due to a foot injury, leading to changes in AEW’s plans. The injury also resulted in the Bang Bang Gang vacating the AEW World Trios Championships.
White last competed on the July 6th episode of AEW Collision, when he lost to Hangman Page in the Owen Hart Foundation tournament.
As we previously reported here on eWn, White was assessed at a TV event in August to determine if he could return to weekly programming.
At one point, AEW considered White for All In London 2024, specifically the Casino Gauntlet match, but that did not materialize.
WrestlePurists is reporting that White is expected to return to AEW “imminently.”
