Adam Cole says he and Roderick Strong can both face off against MJF at AEW Full Gear 2024.
During Wednesday night’s episode of AEW Dynamite, Cole defeated Malakai Black to earn his second of three wins that he must get to earn a match with MJF at the pay-per-view event.
Following the match, Cole announced that Strong can also join the bout if they can both get to three wins.
It’s worth noting that Malakai Black’s AEW contract is expected to expire at the end of this year.
During the Cole/Black match that took place on Dynamite, Black called for the finish and hugged Cole after the match instead of taking a handshake. There was speculation backstage that this was a “send-off” of sorts.
Fightful Select is reporting that the word backstage in recent months is that Black could be done sometime toward the end of 2024 or in early 2025. There is said to be option years if AEW decides to go that route.
Back in 2022, AEW President Tony Khan revealed that Black was under contract for five years, though Black denies that.
