Former AEW TNT Champion Miro has requested his release from the company, four years after his debut, it has been reported this week.

Fightful Select is reporting that Miro has asked for his exit from AEW. The Bulgarian debuted in September 2020 as the ‘Best Man’ of Kip Sabian.

Miro’s initial AEW deal was due to expire in Spring 2022 but he signed a four-year extension that could keep him around until Spring 2026.

Much of Miro’s AEW run has seen him go unused, either due to injuries or simply not being used by the company.

Miro has been “healthy for quite some time” but has not been used for any matches by AEW in 2024. He has wrestled just eleven times for AEW since December 2021.

There was reportedly considerations about using Miro in the All In: London Casino Gauntlet Match and Miro requested to work with Jon Moxley earlier this year.

Miro is reportedly earning seven figures with AEW. Before AEW, he competed as Rusev where he became a three-time United States Champion.

This year saw Miro separate from his wife CJ Perry (Lana in WWE.) Perry left AEW in July of this year after debuting for the promotion in 2023.
