Report – Top AEW Star Returning Sooner Than Expected

AEW will not be missing one of its top stars for an extended period of time.

Following their Unsanctioned Lights Out Steel Cage Match at the AEW All Out 2024 pay-per-view event at the NOW Arena in Chicago, IL, Swerve Strickland and Hangman Page received mixed reactions for the magnitude of violence displayed in their bout.

During the match, Strickland and Page took multiple bumps on a cinderblock. Swerve delivered a foot stomp through a table and also used a charred piece of wood to stab Page in the head.

The finish saw Page use a needle to stab Strickland in the mouth and knock him out with a chair shot to the head to secure the victory.

Following the event, it was reported that Strickland would take a break from AEW.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter has shared an update on the current status of the former AEW World Champion.

According to the report, Strickland’s return to AEW programming would be sooner than originally expected.

With the AEW WrestleDream 2024 pay-per-view event scheduled for October 12 in Strickland’s home state of Washington, it would make sense for him to appear on the show.

The exact timing of Strickland’s return remains unknown.
