On next week’s episode of AEW Dynamite, there will be a Casino Gauntlet match to determine who gets the next opportunity to face off against Jon Moxley for the AEW World Championship, and we now know one of the participants who has earned the No. 1 spot.
On this week’s ‘Fight For The Fallen’ themed episode of AEW Dynamite, “Switchblade” Jay White defeated Roderick Strong and Swerve Strickland to secure himself that spot by pinning Strong.
Earlier in the night, Jay White cut a quick promo backstage where he was fuming over Wheeler Yuta interfering at AEW Worlds End 2024 and preventing him from winning the AEW World Championship. He plans to get through the gauntlet and beat Moxley for that title, and has clearly taken a big step in that direction.
Meanwhile, during that qualifying three-way match, Swerve Strickland was attacked by Ricochet, who was wielding a golden pair of scissors. Ricochet continued to go after Swerve following the match as well, rendering Strickland a bloody mess that had to be helped out by Strong, Adam Cole, and Kyle O’Reilly.
