Fans have seen the last of Ricochet in WWE, at least for the time being, but there is a reason his send-off was left open-ended on TV.
Ricochet’s final appearance saw him be destroyed by Bron Breakker and taken away in an ambulance with his fiancée Samantha Irvin.
This send-off naturally left fans assuming that Ricochet would return and get payback on Breakker, but that did not happen.
On a recent edition of the “Insight” podcast, Ricochet spoke about the unique circumstances behind his final WWE appearance. He said,
“I think they kind of left it open-ended for a reason, nobody really knew at that point what was going to happen. I think they were trying to leave it a little open-ended. I think we were still talking. So I think that’s why they kind of did it the way they did it, especially because Ricochet, he could have come right back in a couple of weeks. But no, it just didn’t go that way. Then I went this way and I’m really happy with everything that’s happened so far and, yeah, It’s been great.”
Ricochet debuted for AEW at All In: London 2024 and has since found himself in the AEW International Championship picture.
Ricochet also has his sights set on the IWGP World Heavyweight Title and attacked Zack Sabre Jr. at the recent NJPW Power Struggle event.
