Shane McMahon has met with AEW President Tony Khan to discuss the possibility of plans moving forward, it has been confirmed this week.
The two men met on Monday, July 29, at an office at a private Arlington airport, WrestleTalk and Fightful have confirmed.
The two had met to discuss “possibilities moving forward“ and that Khan has been “open“ to talking with Shane for a while.
It is believed that the two men never met, or even spoke, before rumors of McMahon possibly joining AEW were shared online recently.
Khan has been “very open“ to “using” McMahon for several weeks now but those within AEW had not been briefed on the meeting.
The AEW President has previously told Sports Illustrated that he respects McMahon as an executive and wrestler and that he was “always welcome in AEW.”
McMahon hasn’t appeared for WWE since WrestleMania 39 where he suffered a quadriceps tear shortly into his impromptu match with former ally The Miz.
