Tribalism may be a feature of pro wrestling fandom, but AEW’s Shelton Benjamin isn’t interested in fierce debates over the better promotion.

Benjamin joined AEW this year, just over a year after he was released from WWE, where he’s a former U.S. and Intercontinental Champion.

On a recent edition of the “Gabby AF” podcast, Benjamin spoke about tribalism and why he doesn’t let it bother him. He said,

“The whole tribalism thing… I get it, it’s Coke and Pepsi, it’s Disney and Warner Brothers. So I get that. But me as a performer, that doesn’t matter to me. That’s an argument for the fans to have. And I’m not a strong supporter of tribalism. I’m a supporter of great talent, I’m a supporter of giving guys and girls opportunities to shine. I want to see everybody succeed.”

Benjamin is undefeated thus far in AEW, where he has picked up victories over Lio Rush and Sammy Guevara.

On the podcast, Benjamin also spoke about a potential WWE Hall of Fame induction. Click here to check out what he has to say.
