Teddy Long is open to the idea of Bobby Lashley and MVP joining AEW, but believes the promotion shouldn’t repeat what fans have already seen.
In recent weeks, it has been reported that Lashley and MVP are expected to leave WWE and are seeking to team together once more in AEW.
On a recent edition of Sportskeeda’s “The Wrestling Time Machine” podcast, Long addressed the possibility of the pair being ‘All Elite.’ He said,
“That’s a possibility because every man needs a paycheck… The other thing too you know. I’d like to see ’em there but then in a way I wouldn’t like to see ’em there because if they go there, now it’s gonna be like how they are going to be used. They can’t go in there, like Bill said, they can’t use the name The Hurt Business. Like I said, I wouldn’t even recreate that. I’d create something brand new for AEW. That’s what I would do.”
Lashley and MVP were aligned for years as part of The Hurt Business and their partnership saw Lashley win the United States Title and WWE Championship.
It has been reported that Lashley and MVP wish to reunite with Shelton Benjamin in AEW. Benjamin was let go from WWE in September 2023.
The Hurt Business’ fourth member, Cedric Alexander, is still with WWE and recently made a return to NXT.
