Sting may have a new contract with All Elite Wrestling, but the Icon would be wise to keep out of the ring according to Hall of Famer Teddy Long.
It was recently reported that Sting has a licensing deal with AEW akin to a WWE Legends contract, which could result in further on-screen appearances.
On a recent edition of the “Wrestling Time Machine” podcast, Long advised the wrestling veteran to stay clear of the ring. He said,
“Sting needs to just take that deal and make these appearances and keep doing what he’s doing and stay out of the ring man. Enjoy the rest of your life.”
Sting’s final match took place at AEW Revolution 2024 and saw himself and Darby Allin retain the AEW World Tag Titles against The Young Bucks.
Tony Khan has cited Sting’s farewell as one of AEW’s all-time highlights. His first post-retirement appearance came at All In: London in August.
