WWE grew increasingly frustrated with Bryan Danielson for refusing to stop wrestling due to injuries, WWE Hall of Famer Teddy Long has claimed.
During this week’s episode of WWE RAW, JD McDonagh was part of a scary moment where his neck whipped the announce desk, leaving fans worried about an injury.
On a recent edition of the “Wrestling Time Machine” podcast, Long addressed McDonagh’s situation by reflecting on Danielson’s setbacks in WWE. He said,
“Daniel Bryan wouldn’t quit. They got mad at him about that because he said he was okay when he wasn’t.”
Speaking about McDonagh, Long believed that a medic should have checked on the Irish Superstar first before he continued the match. He said,
“Maybe you need to have a doctor on the scene at all times. Maybe they should have sent a doctor down, looked at him right away immediately, and let that doctor decide whether he should continue or not.”
Bryan parted ways with WWE in 2021. He joined AEW that same year and became AEW World Champion at All In: London 2024.
