AEW has enjoyed a strong partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD), but both parties are currently negotiating a new contract.

Fightful Select has shared an update regarding the rumored new broadcast rights agreement between AEW and Warner Bros. Discovery.

According to the report, although a new broadcast deal between AEW and Warner Bros. Discovery is anticipated, it has yet to be finalized. Earlier reports suggested that an agreement between both parties was “imminent,” while others stated a deal was in place in principle.

However, sources close to Warner Bros. Discovery have claimed that there is currently nothing “imminent” between AEW and the broadcast giant, indicating that no development is expected in the next few days.

Neither company is planning to announce a new TV deal imminently, and neither side has yet agreed on any framework. AEW and Warner Bros. Discovery are reportedly anticipating that a new deal will be reached and that relations between them are still amicable.

AEW President Tony Khan is expected to meet with Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav in Paris, France, during the Olympics. Their meeting has been in the works for months. However, although they are scheduled to discuss the new broadcast deal, there is no guarantee of reaching a deal during their meeting.

Other sources have informed that while an offer for AEW’s broadcast rights has been made, there is still no agreement in place as of July 23.

Moreover, Warner Bros. Discovery made an offer to AEW some months ago, but it hadn’t been agreed upon, and negotiations are ongoing.

The exclusive negotiating window for AEW with Warner Bros. Discovery was set to expire this month.
