The Grizzled Young Veterans, comprising James Drake and Zack Gibson, are fulfilling independent dates despite making their AEW debut a few months ago.
The tag team joined WWE in 2018 and became the first NXT UK Tag Team Champions before deciding to depart in 2023 on personal terms. Drake and Gibson then briefly appeared for TNA Wrestling before announcing plans to establish their own wrestling promotion.
After putting FTR over on AEW Collision in April, there was speculation regarding whether Tony Khan would sign the Grizzled Young Veterans.
Fightful Select is reporting that the Grizzled Young Veterans have yet to sign with AEW. Both sides were far apart on financial terms per the latest contract discussions.
