Maxwell Jacob Friedman (MJF) recently appeared in the cast of Happy Gilmore 2 alongside Adam Sandler.
Fightful Select has shared an update on MJF’s role in the movie and his expected return to AEW.
MJF’s role in the sequel is said to be “a major one,” and he was reportedly filming for the movie until last month. Production for the movie wrapped up in the last week of September.
The former AEW World Champion is expected to return to weekly programming soon, although the exact date has yet to be determined.
The report also mentions that MJF has signed on for another film role in an upcoming feature alongside Justin Long and Ron Perlman, but limited details are available about the project.
MJF last wrestled at AEW All Out 2024, defeating Daniel Garcia in a singles match.
