During a recent edition of the “Busted Open Radio” podcast, Tommy Dreamer opined that Beth Phoenix could be a strong opponent for Mercedes Mone at AEW Grand Slam: Australia 2025.

Although Phoenix hasn’t officially appeared for AEW or been rumored to sign, her husband, Adam “Cope” Copeland, is currently part of the roster.

Dreamer said, “It’s hard to think of mega matches that can help draw such a large crowd. We had talked about it before, if she’s introduced the right way, Beth Phoenix, showing up in AEW, helping out her husband, and then ships crossing in the night — Mercedes Mone and Beth Phoenix kinda having something-something. Backstage or something, which could lead to a bigger, one-on-one, you never know what that could get to,” said Dreamer. “I’m just trying to think of money matches that are out there, and that are left for — when you have a dominant champion, 15-0, and has defeated a lot of women, left a lot of people in her wake. Just thinking of main event stuff to try to fill really big [shoes].”

Thunder Rosa, Dreamer’s co-host, expressed her desire to face Mone but noted that she should work her way up following her recent loss to Mariah May.

During a recent appearance on the “WrestleBinge” podcast, AEW wrestler Orange Cassidy expressed his views on former AEW World Champion MJF.

Cassidy said, “He [MJF] is a spoiled, narcissistic, scared little boy who wants to get everyone’s approval and does the only way he knows how, by being a ruthless little brat.”

Cassidy said on Wheeler Yuta, “He is a very determined person who wants to do what he thinks is best. I think he can sometimes get that determination confused and allow other people to influence his decisions. I think he is determined to be the best professional wrestler as we all are.” Cassidy continued, “It’s just that he thought there was a way to get there and he chose his way, and it’s obviously not the way I would’ve preferred him to go but he will have to learn from his actions that there are consequences.”
