Thunder Rosa had to vacate the AEW Women’s World Championship due to a back injury two years ago.
This led to Toni Storm being named interim champion, and later, her reign was recognized as official when Rosa gave up her title. Now, Rosa will challenge Storm for the title at the AEW Dynasty 2024 pay-per-view event later this month.
Storm recently appeared on the “Going Ringside” podcast to discuss their ongoing feud. She said,
“When it comes down to this [AEW Women’s Title], no friends. She was injured. She had to leave because she couldn’t handle the pressure of being champion. She had a back injury because she was not strong enough to carry this mountain of gold right here. I came in and became champion.“
