AEW President Tony Khan believes that the current era of wrestling is a golden era for the industry, and is pleased that his promotion is part of it.
During a media call before Saturday night’s AEW All Out 2024 pay-per-view event, Khan reflected on the state of modern-day professional wrestling. He said,
“It’s a boom time in wrestling. This is a golden age for the sport. This is a great time to be in wrestling, and AEW is a huge part of the wrestling conversation happening today… When you look at that, historically, I think the affinity of fans is at an all-time high.”
Both AEW and WWE have seen major success in recent years with both promotions breaking records with their pay-per-view events.
Smaller promotions have also been seeing success including TNA Wrestling, GameChanger Wrestling (GCW), MLW, and others.
AEW’s next pay-per-view event will be the promotion’s second-annual WrestleDream pay-per-view event, which takes place on October 12, in Tacoma, Washington.
