Tony Khan says he’s open to doing a women’s Casino Gauntlet match in AEW down the line.

During Thursday’s media call to promote Saturday night’s AEW All Out 2024 pay-per-view event, the AEW President commented on whether he’d be down to hold a women’s Casino Gauntlet match in the future.

You can check out some highlights from the media call below:

On the potential match: “It would be great to advertise and build up in the future. And the Casino Gauntlet match is something that I invented this year, and it has really taken off. All three of them have been incredibly well received. They’ve also all been in hometowns of mine, with the great Casino Gauntlet we’ve done in Los Angeles. First one was in Jacksonville, then Los Angeles, then Wembley Stadium in London.”

On possibly hosting the match at a future All Out: “I would absolutely love to bring Casino Gauntlet to Chicago [the site of All Out] at some time. And I do think a women’s Casino Gauntlet match can be a tremendous match too at some point. So, it is something that I have thought about and would like to do in the future.”

Speaking of the Casino Gauntlet match, former WWE creative team writer Freddie Prinze Jr. recently took to his “Wrestling With Freddie” podcast to reveal that he’s not a big fan of the match.

Additionally, Prinze Jr. praised the current state of the AEW Women’s Division.

You can check out some highlights from the podcast below:

On the AEW women’s division: “The women’s division in AEW is very rapidly growing. And I’m not going to say it’s going to be better than WWE’s because Charlotte Flair’s coming back…but Jamie Hayter, Saraya who can’t wrestle every day but when she does gives a good match, and for those who don’t know she’s got like major neck injuries. Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D, Mercedes Mone, the world champion and the former world champion Toni Storm and Mariah May. That alone, and then forget all the people who are going to be losing like the [Hikaru] Shida’s and all those who are going to be helping putting these over, they’ve got a serious women’s division now.”

On the Casino Gauntlet match: “I have always hated this match. I have never understood it, even when I understood the rules I still was like, ‘Wait, what?’ How are these guys going to tell a story if there’s no time limit set, like it could be 30 seconds. How do you tell a story in 30 seconds and get yourself over before the next dude comes out and their job is to get themselves over? So it was always a weird match to me, and then I saw this one and everybody told a story and commentary was prepared to put over everyone’s story.”
