AEW President Tony Khan is thrilled to have Britt Baker back on programming after the former Women’s Champion was suspended recently.
Baker was suspended due to a backstage altercation with MJF and Alicia Atout. MJF, who was seen as defending his girlfriend, was not suspended.
On-screen, Baker’s absence was explained as a (kayfabe) suspension brought on by a (scripted) altercation with Mercedes Mone at San Diego Comic-Con.
When “Barstool Rasslin” asked Khan about Baker’s return from suspension, the AEW President did not address her punishment directly. He said,
“Britt Baker has been on the show, just this week. I think Britt Baker is fantastic. So great having Dr. Britt Baker DMD back in AEW. She is facing the CEO at AEW All In. It’s going to be a fantastic match. Mercedes vs. Britt is one of those dream matches that I’ve wanted to see for a long time.”
Baker will challenge AEW TBS Champion Mercedes Mone at AEW All In: London 2024 this weekend. The show will take place at Wembley Stadium.
The event will mark Baker’s second time competing in Wembley after wrestling at All In 2023. Mone, who was injured at the time, appeared in the crowd.
