Jeremy Allen White may have thrilled moviegoers as Kerry Von Erich in A24’s The Iron Claw, but Tony Schiavone wasn’t a fan of the role.

White plays the former WWE Intercontinental Champion in the biopic that delves into the lives, careers, and many tragedies of the Von Erich family.

On a recent edition of his “What Happened When?” podcast, Schiavone shared his issues with White’s portrayal. He said,

“Even though The Bear may be one of my favorite shows of all time, I [don’t think Jeremy Allen White] did a good Kerry Von Erich. Yeah. He’s a good actor, but Kerry to me, he was just a bit more muscular guy. He just didn’t look physically to me like Kerry Von Erich.”

Later in the podcast, Schiavone made clear that he only had issues with White’s physical presence, not his acting skills.

Schiavone added that he also did not enjoy the portrayal of Ric Flair, but said it would’ve been difficult for someone to properly portray the wrestling legend.
