Recently, former WWE Champion Alberto Del Rio spoke to Contralona TV and revealed he had mended fences with WWE and the likes of Triple H, who he suggests he has already apologized to:
“Now everything is normal with them, I apologized and shook hands, even with Mr. Levesque, with whom I do not agree on many things, especially how things ended and how they were done [when he was fired in 2014], but I should never have crossed the line and disrespect him.
“A man can only be called a man by admitting his mistakes. I lived a very difficult stage in my life: one year and two months in which I had to win the most difficult battle of my life that was against myself.”
With that being said, many believed those comments opened up the door for a possible Del Rio WWE return. Pump the breaks on that. According to a report from Fightful, Del Rio had a rocky relationship with the company the last time he left, but add on the impression he left with talent, management, and behind-the-scenes personnel – a return to WWE is highly unlikely.
Also, the report included that WWE doesn’t want to do anything that will make Paige feel uncomfortable, as they hold her in high regard. However, blocking a Del Rio return is not something that Paige has petitioned for, and the status of their current relationship with one another is unknown.
