Ariya Daivari will be with AEW for the long term as he has confirmed a full-time deal with the promotion.
Daivari was with WWE from 2016 to 2021, and returned to the promotion this year as a producer, before being released months later.
The brother of Shawn Daivari, Ariya debuted in AEW in November 2021 and returned in June 2022.
Speaking on AEW Unrestricted, Daivari spoke about teaming with Invictus Khash during his debut with AEW. He said,
“Very good wrestler, he’s a fellow Persian man just like me. We kind of got put together randomly as a tag team, and we’re doing a couple Darks together, and it was going great.”
Daivari explained that Tony Khan “wasn’t really feeling” the team, and mentioned that he has a full-time deal with AEW.
“I showed up one day and I found out that I’m tagging with a guy named Slim J. I said, ‘Okay. That’s interesting…’ that’s what led to me getting my full-time job so, you know, that’s what the boss wants, that’s what the boss gets.”
In addition to being an on-screen persona, Daivari has been producing backstage, including the matches between Thunderstorm against Dr. Britt Baker and Jamie Hayter.
