It was a rough day at the office for Austin Theory on Monday night.
During Monday night’s episode of WWE RAW, Theory came out and cashed in his Money in the Bank title shot against Seth Rollins for the US Championship. Originally, Bobby Lashley came out and destroyed Rollins after the latter issued an open challenge. That bout never began as Lashley put Rollins through the commentary table and then was stopped by WWE officials. As Lashley was heading to the back, Theory came out to the ring and cashed in his briefcase.
While Theory got the upper-hand at first, Rollins was able to kick out of several pinfall attempts. Later, as Theory was about to pick up the win, Bobby Lashley once again returned and pulled Theory out of the ring. He would go on to destroy him, leaving him ‘unconscious.’ A WWE official then nearly counted Theory out, but he was able to get back into the ring and was hit by Seth Rollins’ ‘Curb Stomp.’
Theory won the briefcase at Money in the Bank 2022 in July.
