At the WWE Elimination Chamber 2023 pay-per-view event, Austin Theory defended the WWE United States Championship against Bronson Reed, Damian Priest, Johnny Gargano, Montez Ford, and Seth “Freakin” Rollins in the Men’s Elimination Chamber match.
During the post-show press conference, Theory shared his thoughts on John Cena, potentially hinting at a possible matchup with The Champ at WrestleMania 39. He said,
“Why does everybody talk about John Cena? Why? Why don’t they talk about me? Because now they’re going to talk about me. Because tonight I showcased my immortality inside that chamber.”
With Rollins most likely facing Logan Paul at WrestleMania 39, it almost seems obvious for Theory to go 1-on-1 with Cena at The Showcase of Immortals this year.
