Prior to Sunday night’s “The WLRD On GCW” pay-per-view event, there had been a lot of speculation on whether FTR was going to appear. There had been some rumors that they were going to answer the open challenge from the Briscoes as the two teams had a back-and-forth on social media.
According to a report from Pwinsider, the AEW tag team were never booked for the show. While there was some talk about having The Briscoes vs. The Second Gear Crew take place, the company went with Nick Gage and Matt Tremont answering the challenge and winning the titles instead.
Additionally, the “early indications” are that “The WRLD On GCW” did very well in terms of streaming business.
