Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Vince McMahon made the decision to call WWE NXT stars to the main roster after seeing recent advance ticket sales for the return to touring, which was below expectations.
Shotzi Blackheart and Tegan Nox appeared on last week’s SmackDown. Toni Storm will be making her blue brand debut soon. Also, a trade between Raw and NXT will see Mandy Rose go to NXT while Aliyah is going to Raw.
Per the report, McMahon thought there was no one new, fresh or exciting on the roster. He thinks that having NXT stars on the main roster will change that and the plan is to push them right out of the gate.
