The latest episode of AEW Dynamite was plagued with technical problems.
There were issues with the TV listings as several platforms had the show listed as airing in the afternoon instead of its usual 8:00 PM EST timeslot, which would result in DVRs recording the wrong program.
It was noted at the time that it was an error on the part of TBS that led to the snafu.
Furthermore, there were audio issues during the actual broadcast as a segment featuring Roderick Strong, Adam Cole, and The Kingdom had distorted audio and had to be replayed later. This caused Dynamite to get an overrun from TBS.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that the audio issue actually stemmed from a problem at TBS, not AEW.
The TBS feed had the error whereas the FITE.tv feed did not. Although the general audience eventually got to see that segment, DVR viewers missed the final five minutes of the show due to the overrun.
Fightful Select is reporting that both Warner Bros. Discovery and AEW were frustrated with the broadcast issues.
WBD became aware of the TV listing error on Wednesday morning, which led to AEW President Tony Khan being informed and warning people on Twitter.
A WBD source labeled the problem as “inexcusable” and felt bad for AEW.
In addition, there was a lot of “frustration” backstage in AEW. While the promotion is typically blamed for issues like this, there was nothing they could do this time around.
