Roman Reigns defending the WWE Universal Title against Rey Mysterio was originally planned for Sunday’s Hell in a Cell pay-per-view event. However, it was moved to Friday’s episode of SmackDown.
Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that “there’s no involved reason that made any sense” regarding this booking decision.
Meltzer wrote, “The word we were told is that you can’t describe why, there were just a bunch of discussions on Thursday and the discussions ended up with ‘Let’s do it on Smackdown.’”
It was added that there are no plans were for Reigns to not wrestle on the PPV.
