The 2022 Women’s Royal Rumble match was not an easy one.
According to a report from Fightful Select, Finlay produced the match with help from Pat Buck, Shane Helms, Michael Hayes and Molly Holly. Finlay was brought in for this match in order to replace Tyson Kidd, who despite still being with WWE, hasn’t produced matches in several weeks and his absence was a big problem.
Additionally, at least one talent passing on the match was due to Kidd not producing it. The morale for the match was low as the situation was described as messy and chaotic. One WWE talent noted that there should have been more full time talents instead of wrestlers from the past being brought in only for one night.
