During the 2022 WWE Hell in a Cell Kickoff show, Kayla Braxton confirmed that Cody Rhodes is indeed injured.
Braxton noted that Rhodes suffered a “partially torn right pectoral tendon” during a brawl with Seth Rollins on last week’s episode of RAW.
While Rhodes initially kept the news of this very quiet, he further aggravated the injury during a weight training session on Friday. While he was working out in the gym, the tendon “tore completely off the bone.”
Braxton did note that Cody Rhodes vs. Seth Rollins will still be taking place tonight. As you’d expect, Cody will be working in a tremendous amount of pain during the bout.
It remains to be seen when Cody Rhodes will undergo surgery for the injury. Usually, a torn pec injury will keep someone out of action for between six and ten months.
As of earlier today, the Cody Rhodes vs. Seth Rollins Hell in a Cell match was scheduled to main event tonight’s show.
