More than a dozen WWE talents previously fired during Vince McMahon’s regime were brought back to the company ever since Paul “Triple H” Levesque was appointed as the Chief Content Officer of WWE.

It was recently rumored that Triple H has been underwhelmed by many of the returns.

Fightful Select is reporting that WWE sources are currently downplaying the rumor if there’s any truth to it in the first place.

According to the initial report from WrestleVotes, “The Game” was reportedly “underwhelmed” by some of the talents “underperforming” since their return to WWE.

One source claimed Triple H would never be actually voicing such concerns aloud, even if he did believe it to be a fact.

Additionally, a member of the creative team noted that none of the talents who returned to WWE were expected to immediately ascend to the top of the food chain.

Another source believed to be familiar with the situation claimed that Triple H sought to bring back many of these former Superstars to add more depth to the RAW and SmackDown rosters.

WWE sources further indicated that the returns were a long-term activity because the creative team wanted each act to get a little more over whenever WWE held shows at specific hometown arenas.

Several of the recent returnees were told that they were solely brought back to add more depth to the existing rosters. The issue of roster depth was reportedly raised when Triple H assumed control of the creative side of WWE following Vince McMahon’s sudden retirement since RAW and SmackDown shows were starting to grow repetitive.

Another source pointed out after the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view event that returning Superstars, such as Johnny Gargano and Bronson Reed, got the opportunity to showcase “Their value when given an opportunity.” Triple H personally praised the work of Reed during Saturday’s post-show press conference for WWE Elimination Chamber.
