The first match has been advertised for the WWE Payback 2023 pay-per-view event on Saturday, September 2, 2023, at the PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh. PA.
WWE recently aired an advertisement for Payback in overseas markets as well as on WWE Main Event, where it was revealed that Trish Stratus will face Becky Lynch in a steel cage match at the show.
This comes after they worked a match on Monday’s episode of RAW that resulted in a double count-out after the two women fought through the concessions area before Zoey Stark, who was barred from ringside, attacked Lynch while assisting Stratus.
Following the bout, it was announced that their next match would take place inside a steel cage, but no date was given.
WWE has not officially announced the match on social media or its website as of this writing.
