We reported last week here on eWn that former WWE Champion Alberto El Patron (Alberto Del Rio in WWE) had sexual assault charges against him dropped after the witness said she didn’t want to show up. Several Mexican media outlets claim she “feared for her life” due to threats from El Patron and his family/friends.
Alberto El Patron also stated in a recent interview with Michael Morales that “he had the power” to take his ex-fiancée, Saraya-Jade Bevis (Paige) “out of her job in two seconds” if she ever talked about him again. For what it’s worth, Paige often doesn’t address El Patron’s comments about her and it’s mostly him who is still doing the talking and threatening.
Following the charges being dropped, El Patron claimed he’d be “working in one of the three biggest US wrestling companies in 2022.” According to multiple sources, that’s just not true.
According to a report from Fightful, multiple sources from WWE, AEW, MLW, and Impact Wrestling have said that there’s absolutely “no interest” in bringing in El Patron. Many said they would be “shocked” if it ever happened.
Of course, whether a major company does seek to hire Alberto El Patron remains to be seen but the top four companies in the United States are not interested despite El Patron’s claims to the contrary.
