On a recent episode of The Wrestling Inc. Daily, Nick Hausman spoke with pro wrestling journalist Bill Apter. Hausman and Apter would discuss the current state of the WWE product – including the recent WWE Universal Championship match on SmackDown between Roman Reigns and Rey Mysterio.

Recently, WWE made the bizarre decision to move the proposed main event match between Roman Reigns and Rey Mysterio from the pay-per-view to the go-home episode of WWE SmackDown. This match was a highly entertaining one worthy of any professional wrestling card. In reference to this main event contest, Apter would state:

“That was a pay-per-view main event. That would sell out any arena, and Rey Mysterio, I love him because here, he lost the match, but he doesn’t lose any of his greatness. He tapped out. The match looked like a shoot half the time. It was so good, and so well done.”

On the subject of Roman Reigns’ recent character development, Apter would state:

“I want to compliment both of them, and Roman Reigns has become such an amazing character. I don’t even know if he knew he could do what he’s doing. I think he’s fabulous!”

Hausman would ask Apter about the build to the match, leading Apter to remark:

“Rey got a lot of time alone in the ring with no interference at the beginning of SmackDown, and you could see how emotional he was – and you were looking at his eyes and going like ‘this is for real! this is for real!’.”

On a recent episode of WWE Talking Smack, Paul Heyman would lay down an open challenge for anyone to take on Roman Reigns this Friday on WWE SmackDown. Apter would speculate about the eventual open challenge, stating:

“The open challenge for Roman Reigns is going to be one of The Usos. I don’t know it for a fact. I don’t know. It’s going to be an Uso. It’s going to be Jimmy. I was waiting for Jimmy to pull that behind-the-back attack… it just wasn’t the right moment.”

Will Bill Apter’s prediction come true this Friday on WWE SmackDown? Stay tuned to eWrestling News to find out! Do you agree with Bill Apter’s take on the most recent WWE SmackDown main event?
