We just received some breaking news coming from WWE and WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns.
Reigns has posted to his Twitter account confirming that he has been removed from tonight’s WWE Day 1 card after testing positive for COVID-19. Therefore, Brock Lesnar will now be added to the WWE Championship Title match. That means we’ll see Big E. defend his title against Lesnar, Seth Rollins, Kevin Owens and Bobby Lashley in a Fatal 5-Way match. This is a massive blow for WWE as there were plans for a big angle between Reigns, Lesnar, and Heyman at tonight’s pay-per-view event. The angle would have put the plans in motion for WrestleMania 38.
You can check out the official statements from Roman Reigns and WWE below:
I yearn to perform tonight at #WWEDay1 to defend my Universal Championship. However, unfortunately, earlier today I tested positive for COVID-19. Due to the proper protocols I am unable to compete as originally scheduled. I look forward to returning to action as soon as possible.
