Britt Baker is thrilled by Jamie Hayter’s success in AEW so far, given that the DMD got her a job with the company.
At Full Gear, Hayter captured the Interim AEW Women’s World Championship, defeating Toni Storm in the eighth match on the card.
Speaking to Busted Open Radio, Baker gushed over her friend’s success.
“I’m so incredibly proud of Jamie. I mean, I literally hand-picked Jamie. I went to Tony Khan and said, ‘Hey, we need this girl,’ because I wrestled her in the UK in a dive bar years ago, and we’ve been friends ever since.”
Hayter is the champion in place of AEW Women’s World Champion Thunder Rosa, who continues to be out with an injury.
A title unification match will take place once Rosa is fully recovered.
