On the latest episode of the Busted Open Radio podcast, Bully Ray (the former Bubba Ray Dudley) showered praise on former TNT Champion Darby Allin. Darby Allin defeated Samoa Joe to win the TNT Championship last month, before losing the title back to Joe on this week’s episode of Dynamite.
The WWE & TNA Hall of Famer praised Darby Allin’s performance on Wednesday night’s show, and also went on to praise his character work. He also compared the former TNT Champion to Spike Dudley. Here’s what Bully Ray had to say:
“Darby Allin is to AEW what Spike Dudley was to ECW. He’s like the crash test dummy – taking any bumps doing all this crazy stuff. Obviously, Darby has a lot more charisma and depth than Spike had, which is why he’s so over with the audience. With Spike, it was more about him just willing to get his a** kicked and be thrown around and take the sickest bumps ever.”
