As you all are aware, the WWE Network show; “Talking Smack”, will no longer be a weekly post-broadcast show. Instead, the popular WWE Network series will only air after SmackDown Live exclusive PPV’s. It was reported last week by Sports Illustrated, that the reasoning behind the show being cancelled, was due to WWE Chairman Vince McMahon not liking the format.
In today’s edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer noted that he received word form a source within the WWE, that Vince McMahon not liking the format had nothing to do with the “Talking Smack” being cancelled. But more so of it having to do with the viewership numbers of the show.
Meltzer: “Despite all rumors, Vince doesn’t hate Talking Smack. Also, he does not watch it but gets a weekly report about it on Wednesday’s. The one thing he didn’t like was when the New Day appeared right after Kofi got cleared. That was technically their Tuesday night debut and Vince felt the first Tuesday appearance should have happened on SmackDown.”
