Mercedes Martinez is set to faceoff against Impact Wrestling Knockout’s Champion Deonna Purazzo on October 16th. The match, which is currently Martinez’s only match announced since her WWE release, will be at WrestlePro’s Rahway, NJ show.
The pair would last face each other in an NXT ring back in 2020, where the two women would participate in a #1 Contender’s battle royal for the NXT Women’s Championship.

Before this match can happen, Purrazzo will have to defend her Knockout’s Championship against Melina at NWA EmPowerrr on August 28th.
Mercedes Martinez was released by WWE in the latest round of cuts to the NXT roster. These cuts also saw Bronson Reed, Bobby Fish, Ari Sterling and many more released.
