During a recent interview with TMZ Sports, former WWE Superstar CM Punk commented on tonight’s big boxing fight between former UFC fighter Ben Askren and YouTuber Jake Paul. The pay-per-view event will be airing later tonight from Atlanta, Georgia.
For those unaware, CM Punk trained with Ben Askren during his MMA career. Askren was a two-time Division I NCAA champion prior to getting into MMA. He also competed in the 2008 Olympic Games in freestyle wrestling.
Regarding Askren’s striking and people overlooking it, Punk said,
“I think so. But, I think it’s easy to do. It’s easy to sit on your couch and say that Ben isn’t a striker. I know a lot of people are counting him out, but I don’t think anybody should be surprised if he wins.”
