Cody Rhodes and John Cena have topped WWE’s recent merchandise sales as Fightful Select reports that The American Nightmare has been doing exceptionally well in merchandise sales, to the point that he has outsold generic WWE merchandise at recent live events.
This is said to be a rare situation as “generic merchandise” includes items like the WWE logo t-shirts, event merchandise (i.e. WWE WrestleMania or SummerSlam shirts and such), and championship belts.
Among Rhodes’ highest-moving items are his weight belts, which are high ticket commodities.
Cena has occasionally beaten Rhodes in merchandise sales at events since his return to WWE this past September.
Generally, it is either Rhodes, Cena, or generic WWE merchandise that tops the list.
