Cody Rhodes was never afraid to put over another wrestler in AEW, but the American Nightmare wishes he could take back some of those losses.
Rhodes’ tenure in AEW saw him become a three-time TNT Champion but lose to the likes of MJF, Malakai Black, Andrade El Idolo, and others.
Speaking with Bleacher Report, Rhodes reflected on often coming up short in AEW. He said,
“I was letting some of them beat me long before they should ever beat me. I wanted them to succeed, and I still do, but it wasn’t time for me to be a coach. It was time for me to be a player.”
Rhodes would lose 17 of his 73 matches with AEW, giving him a loss rate of 23.29%.
The American Nightmare will challenge Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns this weekend at WWE WrestleMania 39.
