Since The Rock’s surprising return to WWE on last week’s episode of Monday Night RAW, where he hinted at taking over as “The Head of the Table,” fans have been talking about the potential dream match between him and Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40.
It was expected that Cody Rhodes would face Reigns for the title at this event in a rematch from WrestleMania 39. However, nothing has been confirmed yet. There’s also CM Punk potentially taking a spot in the World Heavyweight Title match.
In a recent interview with Sports Illustrated, Rhodes acknowledged the possibility that he may not make it to the main event of WrestleMania.
“The Rock is The Great One–he’s still electrifying,” said Rhodes. “CM Punk is one of the greatest stars in the history of wrestling. I know what I’m up against. Look at the roster–it’s loaded with stars. But that doesn’t bother me. I’m not flinching. I’m not rooting against anyone else, I’m just working to make it happen.”
