Corey Graves’ recent comments about Sasha Banks and Naomi, in which he called the pair “unprofessional”, was originally much worse than what fans heard.

During last week’s RAW, Banks and Naomi left the show, forcing WWE to change their plans for the main event and for the RAW and SmackDown Women’s Championships.

On the same episode, Graves said the two had acted unprofessionally, and has received backlash from fans for his comments.

While speaking on the Unlocking the Cage podcast, Jimmy Smith revealed that Corey Graves actually toned down what Vince McMahon wanted to have said:

“What I don’t get at all is the heat that my broadcast partner, Corey Graves, is getting. They gave him something to read and much like Michael Cole, he toned it down a little bit. But guys, Michael Cole and Corey Graves aren’t making this stuff up. People are getting mad at them like they’re freestyling this stuff. They’re not.”

WWE suspended the former WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions on SmackDown in a statement given by Michael Cole.
