Could Cyndi Lauper one day show up on WWE programming again? You never know …
It was thanks to Lauper’s work with legends including ‘Captain’ Lou Albano and The Iron Sheik that launched the ‘Rock ‘n Wrestling Connection’ in the 1980s, thrusting wrestling into the mainstream.
Lauper continued to appear for the then-WWF, including at that very first WrestleMania, where she managed Wendi Richter for her match against Lelani Kai.
When WWE’s “The Bump” caught up with Lauper and asked if she would ever work with WWE again, she said,
“I don’t know, you know? I always had the look. You never know.”
Fans often call for Lauper to be inducted into the celebrity wing of the WWE Hall of Fame, which currently includes names such as Mr. T, Drew Carey, and Arnold Schwarzenegger.
