In a recent appearance on the Talk is Jericho podcast, Dan Lambert remembered a time when he made Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson cry over an old title belt he owned.
The Rock wrestled in USWA as Flex Kavana in the summer of 1996, where he won the Tag Team Championship twice with Bart Sawyer. The Rock then signed with WWF and became the Intercontinental champion in February 1997.
Dan Lambert had the first title The Rock ever held in his career, which was the USWA Tag Team Championship. When Johnson visited Lambert’s gym to film some content for his reality show, Dan handed him that old title belt, which caused The Great One to break down because it meant that much to him. Lambert said,
“I actually had the first title The Rock ever held for a while, which was the USWA Tag Title. And he came to our gym to film some reality show he was doing — MMA-related — and I actually gave him that belt. And he was like in tears getting that first belt. It meant that much to him.”
