During the global pandemic, WWE released over 100 wrestlers. This included WWE personnel and NXT talent who arrived on the main roster weeks before being let go. One former WWE producer who wasn’t on the list of those who were cut was Dan Ryckert. He recently discussed the reasons for why on “MinnMax”:
“There were business deals in place. WWE is kind of on the hook to make a certain amount of podcasts and so they have to make it, otherwise, deals go bad if you don’t hold up your end.”
Dan Ryckert served as Senior Producer for WWE’s podcasts. Since departing from the company, Ryckert has expressed his frustrations with WWE and them having too much control over the New Day’s podcast. WWE, meanwhile, has recently released names such as Dakota Kai, Stokely Hathaway, Dexter Lumis, and others. Stokely has since found a new home in AEW.
WWE seemingly releases new talent every 90 days. Ryckert recently started back in his old role as Creative Director for Giant Bomb.
