Darby Allin & Aubrey Edwards’ Defy Wrestling Farewell: I was expecting an emotional night when I showed up at Washington Hall in Seattle last night. A very hot crowd, but I could never expect what would happen at the start of the show. Ring announcer Steve Migs was getting the crowd hyped up when the fire alarms went off and the crowd had to vacate the building.

The Fire department showed up and the event had to be postponed for 45 minutes. When we did get going, the card had lots of great matches; including the legend Super Crazy, Killer Kross, Bestia 666 and Ray Horus to name a few. We get to the reason why everyone bought a ticket, and that is to say goodbye to Darby Allin; Defy is his home promotion, as he’s from Seattle. Darby Allin was defeated by Classic Cody Chhun, which was a very good match with an even better story. The crowd got very invested as it was like a passing of the torch. The videos below share the few things Darby said after the match.

In the main event, Schaff defeated Joey Janela for the Defy World Championship. The match itself was ok at best, but what happened afterwards was something special that no one attending will soon forget. Darby Allin, Joey Janela, and Aubrey Edwards all came out to the ring for an emotional “Curtain Call” moment. It is also worth noting that Defy announced a two day wrestle summit will take place in Seattle this year; with PCW, DEFY and PROGRESS promotions taking part in the event. The third video shows Killer Kross celebrating his win over Douglas James. Overall, the fans were hot throughout and went home happy. — Video 1Video 2Video 3
