FTR’s arrival in All Elite Wrestling was a huge deal, but not everyone was thrilled to see the former Revival show up.
Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler arrived in AEW in May of 2020, just one month after their departure from WWE.
Speaking on the FTR podcast, Harwood said many in AEW were apprehensive of their arrival and name-dropped Jungle Boy.
“When me and Cash came into AEW, there weren’t very many people that were happy to see us there. For example, he and I’ve talked about it, but Jack Perry was not happy to see us because he thought that me and Cash were going to come in and change up his whole style and, and try to make him someone he’s not.
“Change is kind of hard for people. So yeah, there were a lot of people that were worried about it.”
FTR lost the ROH World Tag Team Championships to The Briscoes at ROH Final Battle last month and more recently lost the AAA World Tag Titles to Dragon Lee and Dralistico.
The duo’s next title defense will come when FTR put their IWGP World Tag Team Championships on the line at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 17 against Bishamon.
